In the opening 10 minutes, york dominated the play with solid team cohesion. Despite this, slazengers took a surprise 1-0 lead early on. This did not deter york as they quickly equalised in the 21st minute with a great goal by Lucy Krebs. In another opportunity for york, a penalty flick was given which was bravely taken by Lucy Jones, but stopped just short by the keeper. Continued strong pressure from york midfields and forwards, along with good defence, resulted in another goal scored in the 30th minute before half time.
At the start of the second half, york started with a quick attack, and continued to work well as a team, press and create chances. As a result, York had multiple goal scoring opportunities.
