Match Report by Steph Young:

York 5’s set off to Wakefield with the rain pouring like a moody Gotham City ( apologies DC crossover already!)

16 minutes of pre film trailers were enjoyed and York joined in for the cinematic event of the week ( just to note at this point it was 2-0 to Wakefield.) Lots of hockey happened (?)in a finely balanced first half.

PART 2: The Comeback. York took to the pitch pressing Wakey back with the midfield demonstrating the fitness, tenacity and technical nouse of Rocket Racoon. Covering more ground that a fully stretched Groot. York forced a shortie which Pip swerved the defence like the Silver Surfer only to have the ball stopped on the line by feet. Up stepped Captain Marvel, Lydia, and slotted home. 2-1.

The food colouring at half time proved to be a Kryptonite ( sorry DC crossover number 2!) to DoD, Steph, who turned into the Hulk to discuss the rules and had to go and have a little sit down. Iron Man Anna, appeared to have forgotten her minder duties! Stella who had a super game in defence was pushed too far and in a action akin to Drax the Destroyer squashed one of Ronan’s ( Wakefield’s) minions. But received not an infinity stone but a green card!

Yorks spidey senses were tingling as they continued to push for the equaliser but opportunities from Hollie, Fern and Lydia were somehow repelled and we couldn’t ( Thor’s) hammer home the advantage. Yorks Guardians of the Goal stood firm and Annie for the second week running was York’s Star Lord. Final score 2-1. BRING ON THE SEQUAL!!??
