York’s Badgers clinched a narrow 1-0 victory against Halifax with a second half goal from Chloe Robinson. Halifax’s developmrnt side dominated much of the possession in the first half without really pressurising the York goal, as York seemed to be a little of the pace. The second half started in similar fashion with Tommy Smailes and Julia McClean in defence thwarting the advances from Halifax and Stephen Armstrong pulling off some fine saves on his debut in goal. Spurred on by the defences solid performance York started to increase the pace of their passing and movement with Benjy Exley leading the charge along with Bea Thomson. This energy was rewarded with Chloe’s goal. A handful of further chances were created but York had to content themselves with a narrow 1-0 victory in a tight well contested game.
