V Northallerton 30th September 23

Our development team went to a very wet Thirsk to play Northallerton. After a delayed pb our much bolstered and new side from last week made a strong start which set the tone of the game. About 12 minutes in, making their debut Gracie Gillberson had a great run down the right passing into Northallerton D to fellow debutant Oscer Smith who slotted the ball past the gk for our first goal. CoY youngsters gelled well with some great passing play assisted by support and distribution from Andy Forman at sweeper. Northallerton defended well with some attacks on the rebound which were dealt with by Flynn Monk, Hettie Rigby and Thor List in Defence leaving GK Sophia Brisco very little to do. Yorks 2nd goal came 10 minutes into the second half from a goal mouth scramble skillfully finished off by Players of the Match Arthur Seth, also in his first Badgers match. A super game by all with no-one being phased by the full pitch and 11 a side. Other first timers were Alex List, Georgia Jordan, and Henry Williams.
