City of York Ladies 3s first game of the season following promotion against local rival Pocklington. The local derby brought in many a spectator which was great to see.
A newly formed squad had a shaky start which unfortunately led to an early goal. York quickly gained momentum following this and with lots of good team play they were unfortunate not to equalise at half time.
The second half saw a much more dominant performance with good defensive play denying Pocklington a second goal. A counter attack by York resulted in a series of short corners which were unlucky not to be converted especially by Perryman with a strike from the right hand slip.
Yorkâs press remained strong throughout making it difficult for Pocklington to make an advance. York looked much more attacking in the second half, overall a strong performance to our tough league campaign.
