City of york ladies 2s traveled a short distance to Leeds Adel for their 2nd away game of the season.

Alice Aitkin, Jemima Councell and Georgina Royce were making their 1st starts to the season

Adel started strong and York were slow out of the blocks but then soon settled into a rhythm. Lots of close swift passing movements led to numerous attacks which eventually led to a p/c around the 10min mark. A trade mark routine led to the 1st goal which was scored by Sarah Rodgers.
Confidence began to grow within the team which showed as this led to numerous attacks in the Adel D and their keeper having to make numerous saves. Eventually the continous pressure led to yorks second goal when Chloe Robinson netted from dribbling along the right baseline and from a tight angle scored her goal. York went in 2.0 up at half time.

After the break York continued to apply the pressure..some great teamwork between defense and midfield which led to Jemima Councell receiving the ball in the oppositions 25 and individually beat about 5 players to reach the D and score her goal 3.0. With about 10 mins to go York then received another p/c which it was like dejavou as Sarah Rodgers netted her 2nd goal identical to her first. 4.0.
Adel in the latter stages of the game made a few late counter attacks but great defensive work from both wing backs Abi Watt and Bee Prendergast and a great save from Emily Wall from a p/c meant York finished with a clean sheet.
