From push back the 7s controlled the game with decisive passes and a high percentage of possession.
A scrappy play in the Harrogate D led to a superb goal for JP Wordsworth. A second goal was scored shortly after by Nico Stott. The game continued much the same with some missed opportunities from York, until the Harrogate 4s scored their first goal.
Leading in to the second half, the COY 7s were determined to take victory. Adam Dodson scored an excellent goal, bringing the ball to the D himself and chipping the keeper.
Harrogate did score a second goal, but the York 7s were able to deny them a third with much thanks to the Brian Ignjatovic and the solid defence in front of him.
The game culminated with 6 short corners, one after another for Harrogate. All were denied and the whistle finally blew, giving York the win.
Man of the match votes were shared equally between George Taylor-Ingle for a dominating midfield performance, Adam Dodson for an excellent goal and many interceptions, Brian Ignjatovic for great keeping and several excellent saves during short corners, Nico Stott for a good goal and deflecting there short corners when running to the first man and finally Jack Nicholson who gave a mature and smart performance from the midfield.
