We are saddened to learn of the untimely death of one of our former junior members Ashley Phythian. Ashley was part of the successful u10s group who achieved Yorkshire Youth League success in 2003. He continued to play for the junior section for a few more seasons before moving on to pursue other interests. Our thoughts and condolences are with his parents Jane and Mick who always supported Ashley pitchside to cheer him on.

There will be a Humanist (non-religious) ceremony to celebrate his life at York Cemetery Chapel, York Cemetery, Cemetery Road, York YO10 5AJ https://www.yorkcemetery.org.uk/ at 1pm Monday 29th January 2024 followed by his interment in our family grave in the Victorian section. No dress code. There will then be an opportunity afterwards to share your memories with family and friends nearby at the Riverside Suite in the Novotel, Fishergate, York, YO10 4FD along with an Ashley influenced buffet. No flowers please – donations instead to Withington Hedgehog Care Trust, 91 Parsonage Road, Manchester or Cats Protection York Adoption Centre in Ashley’s memory.
