A hard fought draw
Having lost the previous match to high flying Harrogate, York entertained top of the table Selby and were determined to do better than the previous week.
The match started brilliantly for York with Neil turning in the first opportunity of the match after only 2 minutes, to give York the perfect start. This shook Selby and they took a while to get into their stride; however, once they did, they showed why they are top.
York were not going to lie down and resolute defending by Tony, Shane, Garry, Oliver and Dougie kept Selby at bay for most of the time. With Roddy not available in goal; Duncan returned to play a commanding role in goal.
Selby were kept at bay until the 31st minute when they equalised.
The second half was mainly Selby attacking with York trying to break when possible. An outstanding display in goal by Duncan meant that York held on for a hard fought draw.
Man of the match: Duncan for his heroics in goal.
