six past the 6s

The six’s arrived at 2:30 at Huntington on chilly winter day. We were playing the infamously good Leeds uni 2s( who shouldn’t really be in our league). Last time we played we were torn to pieces, hoping it might not be as devastating as last time.

The game began, Leeds uni were good and fresh even on a Saturday. (As Friday is when students usually get trashed). Although the uni were strong we held our own. The first half was incredibly intense with the uni dominating.
THEN CAME THE SHORT CORNERS!!!
The uni had ten short corners in the first half alone. That’s right ten!
Yet Doyley didn’t let a single Short in. With help from Brilliant Bedders with two fantastic goal line saves!!!
The uni kept breaking into our D and just couldn’t score.
But then inevitably BANG!!! Goal for the uni!!!
Then BANG!!! Another goal for the uni. The had this brilliant technique of bounce pass into the net it was truly brilliant.
The next goal uni scored was a Fascinating one. Sliding Sam Sliding into the ball giving the uni a flick, His intention being either get the ball and saving us from another goal or giving a flick. Obviously it went the bad way.
After the flick conversion, we restarted and began our attempt at a comeback. We started finally breaking forward until the ball come Hoggy, who passed the ball to Ernie who…

Missed the goal completely.

Ernie was very very frustrated after this.

HALF TIME TEAM TALK!!!

The second half has begun, with York starting strong some lovely play from Jack dribbling passed many(truly brilliant) the whole team playing brilliantly. Yet again the ball came to Hoggy who sends it across the D to Ernie who sends straight at the Keeper.
The uni broke on the counter attack and had about six more short corners.

Yet York still tried to remain focused with some brilliant counter attacks and pursued throughly. Time passed and we just couldn’t score!

Our heads were dropping

BANG!!! another goal for Leeds uni!!!
4-0 down heads were now at the lowest.
The final ten minutes of the game were awful with the uni having at least four short corners.
Yet Doyley let zero short corners in(with help from the rest of the team). Yet the Leeds uni were persistent to thrash us even more.
The uni got two more goals in the final 8 minutes of the game making the game
6-0.

In the end the uni obviously deserved the win with out a doubt. Yet we still showed that we are not weak team!
