Three City of York Hockey Club took three teams to Pocklington on Sunday 19th October 2008
The A team was playing in the A Division which they won last year however most of the side had moved up to the under 12 age group. They started off losing 3-2 to Kingston upon Hull. Next they drew 1-1 with Thirsk. They then beat Wakefield 3-2 and lost the final game 4-3 to Sheffield who won the Division this month. The team finished fourth and remain in the A Division.
The team played well and were unlucky to concede late goals in their two defeats. Good improvement across the games with the last game against Sheffield having York come back from 2 - 0 down to equalise and then a rapid exchange of goals for the late winner to decide it. Goal scorers Karis Hays 4, Lauren Ellwood 4 and Imogen Boddy 1.
The B and C team played in the C Division and had quite a number of new players there who improved on the day
