Strong win keeps us top of the table! (Written by Mickey Stranack)

Wanting to carry on the momentum that we have had over the last few weeks the boys we all up and ready for a big away day in Sheffield. With another strong, lively warm up and some strong pre match words the starting whistle went and we were up and going. Settling early on into our press we managed to put mounting pressure upon Sheffield. Danny was very unlucky in the first 10 with a few chances just not going his way. Even though we gifted Sheffield a few short corners it was us who struck first with Chandler playing a lovely ball into Jack Harrington who was unmarked on the P spot and managed to put it past their keeper. (1-0). The first half carried on with continuous pressure from us but not quite finding another goal so we went into half time 1 goal up. At half time we managed to identify what we needed to do better to step up and put some more past this Sheffield team. The boys really stepped up with lovely link up coming from Dom and Mandy at the back going into Josh and Chandler in the middle. While also the width being exploited by Zak, Ollie and Felix it was obvious another goal was on the horizon. And it was, with a brilliant ball fired across the D Danny Elwood was there to deflect it past the keeper and put us 2 up (2-0). Unlike the first half we decided to turn the screw and within the space of 10 mins our 3 rd and 4th goal were also scored. Our third coming from a great reverse hit strike from Lenny Greis which also came with the best celebration of the game and then our 4th goal coming from Rufus Wordsworth after a composed 1 on 1 with the keeper (4-0). After all this excitement we were caught sleeping momentarily as Sheffield managed to sneak one past us but in the end it only proved to be a consolation goal. (4-1). From this point we managed to close the game out well and hold on to our lead which resulted in another huge 3 points and maintaining our position at top of the table. Up the City!
