The 2012/13 hockey season starts in September and we are recruiting new players to join us.  We welcome players of all ages and abilities.  Competitive play begins with the under 10 teams, but there is no minimum or maximum age to join the club.  In addition to regular club league games and weekly practice sessions we also participate in the England Hockey "Back to Hockey" initiative, which is for women players who are interested in returning to the game, with no commitment to regular training or competitive games.

The men's and ladies' 1st XI teams both play in their respective North League premier divisions, while the ladies' 2nd XI are promoted to the Yorkshire league premier division for the coming season.

Each weekend, City of York Hockey Club puts out five ladies' teams, 10 men's teams (plus another two indoor men's teams) and two mixed teams, all playing a combination of league, cup and friendly matches. In addition, there are over 24 youth teams who take part in county, district and regional league competitions. During the week, coaching and training sessions take place for senior players and as many as 280 youngsters. Home activities are played on a number of synthetic astro-turf pitches in close proximity to the Elmpark Way Clubhouse.
