"Frills Skills" Workshops 2010
We will once again be running our "Frills Skills" Workshops for young people over the summer.

View the poster with more details but in brief...

  • Dates: Saturdays 17th July, 7th August & 28th August
  • Times: 11am to 1pm (U14s and above, in season 2010/11), 2pm to 4pm (U13s and below, in season 2010/11)
  • Venue: Oaklands Sports Centre
  • Cost: £5 per session

These workshops have been opened up to our younger age groups for the first time this year and we also plan to extend this invitation to other clubs and schools throughout North Yorkshire.

The workshops have been very popular as they look at some of the additional, and more unusual skills, that players frequently don't get the chance to practice or see them performed by some elite senior players.

It would be great to see you at these sessions. Please drop nigel.herd@yahoo.co.uk an email if you plan to attend any of these sessions so we can gauge numbers

Hockey Leadership Award 2010

We will once again be running a Hockey Leadership Award for young people over the summer. This award is broken into four modules; Principles of Leadership, Coaching, Umpiring and Managing.

This year, it is aimed at young members of City of York HC, boys and girls, who either were U15 last season or who will be U15 in 2010/11. View the poster with more details but in brief...

Dates: Saturdays 17th July, 7th August & 28th August
Times: 2pm to 5pm (2pm to 6pm for last session)
Venue: Oaklands Sports Centre
Cost: £40 per person (though this will be free for anyone who agrees to coach, umpire or manage for the City of York HC)

Please drop nigel.herd@yahoo.co.uk an email in the first instance, if you plan to apply for the course. I can then take the registration from there. It is anticipated that some people may be unable to make every session. However, residual arrangements will be made to accommodate this.

Child Protection plays an important part within our 'Clubs 1st' accreditation and is an issue that all members, both in the Youth Section and the senior sections, should be aware of and familiar with its demands.
